This modest house from the Late Victorian period in historic Queen’s Park neighbourhood had undergone major cosmetic changes over the decades and had lost its historic character. The project involved the removal of 1980s vinyl siding from the facade and the installation of period appropriate wood siding. The front porch and decorative window sill skirts were reconstructed based on historic photos and site evidence. The final touch was the application of an historic colour paint scheme.
The client lived in the house for over sixty years so he was very pleased to return the house to its former charming character.
